Quite often, I have someone call our office or come visit wanting to make a change in his or her life. I'll spend some time with them, provide insight and then hear nothing. A year later, that person calls and says, "Now I'm really ready to create a plan." The most consistent comment that I hear: "I wish I'd begun when I met with you earlier!" I always wonder, what did they do for the past year? And usually, when we meet, it confirms my thought that, though they may have tried harder, they simply continued doing what they had been doing. While I know that we all have a tendency to "let life happen", once you have made a decision, why aren't you a light switch (On or Off)? If you said you wanted to be in better shape physically, when will you turn on? If you wanted to do better financially, when will you turn on? If you want to be more successful, when will you turn on?
Many times the years go by and I hear people wish they had started something earlier. Commit to yourself today to be a light switch ... and not a dimmer switch!
