San Antonio, Texas…home of the Alamo, the Spurs, River Walk and Chuck Bowen. Wait a minute, who’s Chuck Bowen? Chuck Bowen calls himself a Personal and Business Coach, but he’s so much more. Six years ago Chuck gave up his CEO position at a telecommunications company and decided to start a coaching business for people wanting to thrive, not just survive with their money and work. Over the previous 17 years, the Georgia Tech grad had worked with companies such as Procter & Gamble and most recently as an operational start-up or turn-around specialist. Throughout his work history, he also became known as an expert at coaching people to improve their performance -- "I’ve always enjoyed helping people get things turned around,” Chuck said. After his last job, he decided he didn’t want to move again. He went through Dave Ramsey’s Certified Counselor Training in 2002 and began his own financial coaching business. “I call it coaching instead of counseling because I’ve learned that many people will seek out a coach, but will shy away from a counselor” Chuck has personally benefited from Dave’s wisdom as well and now he wants to pass on that wisdom to others. In 1993, he and his wife Lori slowly began paying off his $65,000 debt but he only became “gazelle intense” three years later after being introduced to Dave Ramsey. They were able to pay off the remaining $50,000 in two years, becoming totally debt-free (including their home!) in 2005. Chuck has been providing personal and business coaching for the past seven years. Chuck and his team of an assistant and coaches are “the only group that offers their comprehensive, unique services in the greater San Antonio area,” he said. Besides coaching others through financial, career and business challenges, Chuck also teaches workshops, speaks and presents at conferences and churches, and has a radio show every Saturday morning called "The Chuck Bowen Show". He’s been doing the radio show since 2004. The fastest growing areas of his company is coaching for the small/medium sized business owner wanting to blaze a path to profitability, as well as life and career coaching.
