I'm in a hurry to get things done Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun All I really gotta do is live and die But I'm in a hurry and don't know why ~ Alabama, "I'm in a Hurry" Feeling trapped causes tons of stress. By far, most folks coming to me suffering from "career anxiety" don't feel that way because they're stressed at their small paychecks, their boss or lack of appreciation. It's something else much deeper, something they can't quite put their finger on ....
They have an "either" but no "or". These good people get up every day to go to their J.O.B. because they feel they have to "either go to their job or ... ?" They feel they have no choice. Survival requires becoming numb to their dissatisfactions. Pursuing their dreams was something left behind in third grade. How long ago. How sad.
Discovering your life's work -- your calling -- begins with embracing the idea that you always have options; you first need to believe it. "Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's souls." ~ Dan Burnham
Options give us choices. Choices lead to possibility. And possibility gives us hope.
Discover your "or".
