Often when I'm working closely with one of my life coaching clients, I find that another emotion accompanies the exhilaration of discovering their innate talents and strengths: Doubt. Why? I acknowledge summing up a seemingly simple question is actually quite complex. Nevertheless, it seems to boil down to one main theme: Fear. Fear of our true self, fear of failing, fear of our weaknesses. Fear.
For example, it's difficult to acknowledge we're gifted in an area sometimes because we feel that if we can do it well, can't everyone else? Strength in a talent manifests itself when we can perform an activity with nearly perfect execution. We live with our strengths every day; they come to us so effortlessly that we can easily take them for granted and they cease to be prized. And so it goes ...
The antidote is to dedicate yourself to discovering you, as you are uniquely made and gifted. Don't take this step for granted, it can be the key to unlocking the future you long for.
