Then, suddenly I took action and ... It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought ... it figures

Well, life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face

~ Alanis Morissette - Ironic

The current times are getting our attention, no doubt about it. Regardless of whether you've prepared financially, in your career or business -- it's almost impossible not to feel even a little bit of stress due to your environment. Or, a whole lot of stress.

Bad things are bound to happen to good people. There are many reasons for it that I won’t get into here. What matters, though, is how we respond to those bad things.

As in Alanis’ song Ironic, “Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you”. Even when everything is going well, things change. Even when everything seems to be blowing up, things change. Change is inevitable. The key is …

… to learn and embrace those things about you that are changeless. Think of the things that are changeless about you, those things that are the “common thread” that stays with you regardless of what happens around you. The more things change, these become central to your success:

• Personality style (your nature)
• Proficiencies (skills, talents, abilities)
• Passions (dreams, interests)
• Purpose (values, life mission)

Don’t you think that – perhaps for the first time in your life – it's time you discover what is changeless about you? Sure, you can wait until after whatever life is dealing you to be over. But why wait?

Life’s ironic. But you don’t have to be at it’s mercy.

"Long ago I told you what was going to happen. Then suddenly I took action, and all my predictions came true."
~ Isaiah 48:3

Here are three steps to take to make the life you want come to fruition:

1. Discover yourself. Get in touch with and really learn your personal style, your strengths, your dreams and what it is YOU want your life to be like.
2. Write it down. There is so much power in writing it down on paper. Here is a link for a complimentary life planning guide to get you started.
3. Take action. SO much of success is dependant on taking action. I’ve never met a person who experienced much success in their life without taking action. Sure, you’ve got do do the right things. But, isn’t it easier to move a big rock that’s already rolling? Take some steps in a basic right direction and adjust as you go along. This is the approach I take with my clients. It works ... always!

You know if you’re going to find a better job that fits you, improve your financial situation, turn-around your sputtering business or simply get better results in any area of your life, you’ve got to establish what it is you want and then work in a powerfully focused manner to make it happen. It’s not hard. It does require a different gameplan that what you’re doing (or not doing) now.

Be full of courage to live the life you want. If you need to start fresh, so be it.

Maybe that’s the good advice that you decide to take …
