I've shared with you how important balance is to having a fulfilling life, one where you're regularly filling each "tank" in seven life areas.
Those seven tanks are: Social, Spirituality, Family, Career, Personal Development, Financial and Physical. Dan Miller, my friend and author of "48 Days to the Work You Love" and "No More Mondays" -- and my guest on "The Chuck Bowen Show" on numerous occasions -- says that "your career should be a reflection of the life you want; it is an outcome of knowing what you want in the other 6 areas. Once you decide on the life you want, it becomes obvious what kind of work embraces that." You should plan your work to help deliver the life you want. Your seven tanks are all interconnected; they can rise or fall together or independent of each other. In other words, your life is dynamic, meaning that the combination of these seven areas for you is unique.
BALANCE will keep you from getting knocked on your rear end ... and not getting up quickly. When someone has lost a job, I recommend to them exercising each morning, play with their family, quiet time with God, quality time with their spouse, keep a journal, etc.
Making immediate, regular deposits of success in your seven tanks will accelerate success in the search for your life's work.
